April Showers Bring Reviews
They just keep coming
Hey there! April was another strange month for me. Here’s what released.
I reviewed Everspace 2, which was a lot of fun, but struggled with pacing a bit. After 10 hours or so, I’d seen everything in the open world and the vastness of space suddenly felt like a sea of reused content.
I reviewed Wildfrost, which was a cute little roguelite deckbuilder that connected well with me. It was easy to get on a bad run, but also felt skillful and had interesting cards to choose from. The art was also great, I loved the cute little animals.
I reviewed Homestead Arcana, which didn’t quite have a solid enough gameplay loop. The exploration gameplay was a bit boring and frustrating, and the farming was very basic. My core issue was that the overall game flow was bad, but I also think it was just too simple, with not quite enough story or deep enough gameplay to inspire me. I did like the story though - love that cat. Also, fun fact, the cat is voiced by Spider-Man from the Playstation games!
Outside of that, I did some more editing on my next Youtube video, though it’s not quite done. It’s easy to underestimate how long it’ll take to edit a video, because an extra two minutes can take multiple hours to edit, depending on the video. In this case, the video will probably end up around 10 minutes, and it’s taking a bit longer than I thought due to some specific parts of the edit.
I wrote some more Youtube scripts, worked a little on the novel I’ve been editing, and continued dealing with health issues. I’m fairly happy with how I did, and hopefully next month will be better? Who knows.
Have a nice month, and I’ll see you next time.
