A Quiet July
Everything comes out next month!
This July, most of my work went into things that’ll be published next month. But some things did get finished!
Oxenfree II is a quality entry in the narrative adventure genre, which I like to call walking and talking games because that’s what a lot of them really are. There are some puzzles here and there, but the bulk of the game is people talking about feelings, and the way the game communicates that through its audiovisual and interactive medium. I liked it!
Crime O’Clock’s story isn’t great, but its focus on solving crimes by finding the criminals in a Where’s Wally-style hidden object game was fun. Best played in short bursts though, because it’s a lot of finding people. Imagine reading a Where’s Wally book for 8 hours straight.
Outside of those two reviews, I updated an article and began work on two other reviews that’ll be out in August. August is a busy month for game releases! I’ll be reviewing Stray Gods, but I likely won’t get to review games like Armored Core VI, Baldur’s Gate 3, Bombrush Cyberfunk, Whisker Squadron: Survivor, Goodbye Volcano High, or many of the other exciting games coming out. September will only be busier; it’s just that time of year.

Stray Gods comes out next month! And I got to review it!
On the personal creative front, July was a bit of a bummer. I stalled out on a couple of projects, and didn’t get much done. I’ll hopefully finish the next Youtube video in August, as well as set up my filming space a little better, and I’ll see what I can do after that.
See you all next month!
